...because it's built for .22 and .17 rimfire. And only $35.

I might have to put this on my xmas wish list. My Gamo pellet trap is not holding up well. Probably has about 2-300 rounds through it and the deflector is permanently bent back and the back stop is bulging pretty bad. I don't think it will hold up to another 300 rounds.

I destroyed my first pellet trap which was a Gamo Trap. I was using it for my Hunter 1250 .22, and it did not even last for 50 shots before a hole developed in the back of trap. It also split the seams. Trash man took it away..:)

I sure wish they would sell to me here in Georgia. I'd have one those on the way. That's about half price from what I've seen them for . kirby

That looks identical to the one I bought locally, and paid about $65.00 dollars for. Yes, it is very heavy duty construction, no air rifle is going to destroy it.

nail a piece of carpet to a sheet of ply and insert for longer wear. Mine works great, and when a hole develops, I just toss it and insert another.

I don't get it. Why won't they sell to you in Georgia?

They are a wholesale supplier also and they have some kind of deal with the retailers here in Ga. and I believe Tenn. , and Ala. IIRC that they won't sell to these states over the internet. IT's JUST NOT FAIR. kirby

CLANK!

Durable but not very quiet.  4 inches of duct seal putty in the back of a deep wooden box seems to stop even a 20 FPE .20 cal pretty easily.  If you shoot repeatedly at the same bull, after a few hundred shots, you are actually shooting into a mega-wad of lead embedded in the putty, but it is still quiet and probably even better at stopping the pellets.  When the accumulated lead gets to be a nugget about an inch or so in size, I dig it out with a screwdirver (careful - there are sharp metal edges on the nuggets), push the putty back in the hole (again with the screwdriver), and start over.  The nuggets can be recycled if you choose.  I have accumulated about half a dozen so far.  Size of nugget may vary with accuracy of the shooter.  If you look carefully, you will see that I have started shooting 5-Bull targets, too.  The quarter round facing was added to protect the original wood of the target.  When I bang it up badly enough, I will replace the quarter round, too.

It's a little more, but still not too bad.

You bet Vince,

My pellet/ bullet trap is over 45 years old, all the seams are welded, and other that some of the paint having chipped off, it's in GREAT shape !

It's marked for .22 cal. rim fire, but I used it to practice with my .38 spec. years ago, tough old trap !

If you are shooting in the house those metal traps can spit out some lead fragments.  Don't want to track them into other areas of the house.  You can quiet them down with some rubber sheeting or carpet glued to the back.

On the Gamo conical-style traps, I bought one and took it back.  The angled piece in the center is supposed to deflect pellets down into the square base, but every one on the shelf had the deflector only going down about halfway.  If you shoot one  too low, you will be hitting the flat back and the pellet could come straight back at you.  A really poor design, IMO.
