Wow...impressive.  I always thought the exit hole would be larger than the entrance hole.......maybe the clay or whatever substance he was using is very dense.

I think Ed aka Shadow has touched on how effective the Gamo Pro Magnum's on the take down power and accuracy of them.

I did a similar test but I used a substance called reenterable encapsulant.  Its feel to the touch like a big chunk of raw meat.  I used JSB predators and crossman wadcutters.  It didn't show the permanent cavity very well but penetration and expansion were very consistent with recovered pellets from rabbits.  I feel that tests like these give me confidence in the pellets ability t take game humanely and push the performance expected from manufacturers of good pellets.

I agree Rocky. With today's pellets, I am sure the projectile will cause sure kills every time I put the pellet where it's needed.Of course if I make a poor hit, and I sometimes do,that critter can maybe  soak up all that energy and maybe live. I just hate it when that happens and grieve somewhat. Chalk up your losses and carry on, has to be the hunters motto sometimes. Thanks Pedro, for showing the evidence to give us confidence in pellet performance if we do our part as shooters and hunters.

the reason the exit is so small is the pellet isnt going fast enough anymore, just fast enough to push through the clay and pop out the back

Thanks for all the comments. And Its true; it certainly makes your aim more steady  knowing what this pellets can cause serious damage to the target.. to dispatch them quickly and effectively.

I have to say Its real pleasure to contribute with some intersting and different perspectives from shooters around the world with the GTA Family, because you always know that somebody here will take the time to share his views and comments and that is a great contribution to the common knowledge of the forum..
