BSA Lightning XL Help
« on: December 01, 2008, 12:16:50 PM »
I have been looking for tear down / tune up info for my rifle. Anyone found or know where there is a tutorial guide out there? It's too nice to just lay into it.

Are you having any problems with it?  As far as I know the Lightning XL's or any other BSA's come factory tuned and don't need any maintenance tunes.  David Slade might be a good person to hit-up for information...  well, you can also hit the BSA website.  I'm sure they've got plenty of useful information listed.

This might help Walt

I might add that the BSA air rifles that I have seen are not like the majority of springer's to work on. You have to have allot of patients and understanding of how they come apart. Although the PDF file I have provided of the blow up schematic looks basically clear it is still a chore to disassemble most BSA springer'sproperly.

THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Thanks for the reply's. The only complaint I have is the spring twang when fired. I have found a few comments on other forums but no step by step info. The biggest problem being expressed seems to center around removing and replacing the maxi grip scope rail. Maybe it's best to wait. I would hate to have to send someone a box of loose parts to work with.
