Question regarding silicone type for lubricant

I have some tubes of Monarch Silicone Compound G624 and need to know if it's safe to use per Charlie's tune guide.  The ingredients are a mix of dimethylpolisiloxane 63148-62-9 and silicon dioxide 112945-52-5 and it's dielectric.  It is used in the telecom industry and I've got a lifetime supply of the stuff.  I stopped at two auto parts stores and none had just plain silicone grease.  All were either adhesives or gasket material with lots of combustibles mixed in.  Thanks in advance.

Sounds complex. I just use the dielectric grease. Hope someone with a chemistry background can help you out.

I do know dielectric silicone grease (electrical and spark plug wire grease) is the same stuff as divers silicone grease and is therefore safe to use around PCP type airguns.

And it cost's less.

The first is a long chain silicone polymer with a single methyl (CH3) group on either end.
Sounds like pure silicone grease to me.

I have used the dialectic for electrical on my PCP's with good results around the hammer and bolt area . But the silicon oil that is made for springer springs is really better in those areas and it seems to cling to parts for ever .Marvin

Hey Ray... when you go to the Auto Parts store next time, tell them that you want the grease that is used for spark plug boots. Most of them don't recognize it as Silicone grease. Almost any of them have it and real common and not very expensive although. it seems to be a little expensive for the tube size and  usually comes in a large tube as well as a small one. Get the small one as it goes a very long ways and is used very sparingly.

Ray, I know EXACTLY the stuff you've got. I use it and a product almost exactly like it at work made by Dow Corning.  Both are safe to use in a tune.

You shouldn't use it forward of the seal either although I do use it on the rear of the seal where it makes contact with the seat on the piston. No lubes should be used or introduced in front of the seal with the exception of the little bit that will be carried down the chamber as it is being initially assembled and the piston being pushed into the compression chamber. That little bit should burn off in just a few firing cycles usually .DO NOT USE SILICONE AS A LUBE FOR THE COMPRESSION CHAMBER or outside piston walls. The silicone is used on the outer rim/edge of the seal only as well as the seal mounting surfaces and then very sparingly. Also, aerosol or spray silicone is useless, can even be harmful and should not be used.

I use Sil-Glyde from Napa autopart #765-1351 only on the outer edge of the seal to assemble the gun.
