Hi Guys,

I am thinking of getting a Mountainair pistol, I am not sure of the power of the some of his guns but I might get a 2240 type I think, any reviews on his products at all.
I would get a rifle but a pistol attracts less attetion if you know what I mean lol.

Hi Stuart,

I don't have one of Roy's pistols yet, but I do have the MA2250B carbine in the 0.177 caliber which is just a CO2 pistol with a stock and 24" barrel.  It is very accurate and shoots  725-740 fps with over 20 quality shots from a 12 gm CO2 cartridge.  I don't think you can go wrong with Mountainair products.

of those MA 2240s on the crosman forum.

Not bad, but you can get more power out of a 2240 and better shot count....................

Hi Stuart,

If it is above 70F you should be OK, however I am no expert on CO2 behavior.  Down here in Texas I don't have a problem finding warm weather to shoot in.  I shoot the pistols mostly inside anyways.  You could send Roy an e-mail and talk about it with him.  He lives and works at 7000 feet elevation.  So it should be fairly cool most of the time where he is.

I said earlier that I was getting well up into the 700's fps with the MA2250B carbine and the 24" barrel.  I would anticpate about 40-50 fps less with a fully modded pistol with the much shorter barrel.

Crooked Barn produces some nice pistols as well.  I bought a used  2240 with a 12" barrel from a fellow airgunner that he had CB mod for FT.  It shoots around 600 fps and gets about 40+ quality shots from a single 12 gm cartridge.

Roy can tune it for whatever performance you want.   For target shooting 600 fps is fine.  For rat-killing the hot mod works well.

If you really want a nice looking 2240 get some of Rick's grips.  Roy may be able to take care of the grips too.
