Barrel reboring???
« on: November 26, 2006, 04:37:14 AM »
Seems to me that SOMEONE must do barrel reboring, and that it oughta be a bit cheaper than a new barrel.

Specifically, I'm thinking about the AR1000 I just bought - the accuracy ain't that great, and the barrel feels terrible when you push a pellet through it. If it were possible to have it rebored to .20 or .22, and done correctly, that would solve all my problems...

Hey, Vince,

I'd bet it would be cheaper to get a new LW barrel.  The boring is probably fairly straght forward, but I suspect the rifleing is where it gets tricky, as in expensive.  After all, Rich sells his LW barrels, blued and threaded to fit, for $75.  I think that will be tough to beat.  Sorry, I know this really didn't help.

firearm relining is available, but the cost is probably about the same as a new premium barrel, with no gaurantee you could get an airgun bore size and twist.
