Snowed
« on: December 13, 2008, 12:18:24 PM »
Snow isn't a big deal to most of you, but this is nly the 8th time in 60 years that there was enough snow to cover the ground in New Orleans.

Which makes for crappy co2 shooting.  I really like co2.  Not after super power, like the consistency of co2, and the long time between refilling a tanker, but co2 just doesn't work in real cold.

Last winter was mild...so was the year before...but this winter, just had to abandon co2 (at least for 4 of them).  Will convert them back to co2 tankers come spring, but for the next few months will stay HPA.

I suspect all that CO2 you have been shooting up has led to global warming!  Er, I mean global climate change.  Anyway, hope it warms up for you soon.

Oh you poor guy,,,snicker, snicker, why don't you come visit beautiful tropical Iowa for a week or so....it was -5 in the shop this morning and after the heater ran all day it made it to a balmy +8....needless to say the fingers were a bit nippy when I got done. Temps like this sure make it hard to tar a spring.......

This week, it's in the 70's...might hit 80's on Wed....so back to shooting co2 for at least the next few days.

Mike, did spend some time in Keokuck, which is just barely in Iowa.....two weeks of  Late jan. / early Feb. was enough for me.  the only clotes i have that are near warm enough all have duck blood in the pockets and smell like wet retriever.

Yup, manual dexterity goes right out the window then your fingers go numb from the cold.

..then in two days, are three of them offered on the yellow classifieds.  It's a case of "jump" if you want one.
Sometime this summer, will open her up and adjustit so that it shoots a little faster....but as issued, in .177 which is what I think all of them are, , it's only going 580-590fps (depending on the pellet used)

Odd sized tgread obn the mini-tank, so are pretty well stuck with the issue tanks.
