Scope help...please.
« on: November 26, 2006, 10:51:34 AM »
I'll make it simple for you all before you reply.

Max $ limit is $60.

I need a scope that will withstand a B30 in .22 cal.

I have a Tasco Golden Antler 3-9 X 32 AO that has taken a poop on me and I'll see how the warranty goes BUT I don't have much faith in it now after only 500+ rounds.

I need something that can withstand HEAVY scope recoil and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  I've looked over Kermit's site but would like some opinions of you folks.  Remember, I need it in the price range or it's no good to me.

I'd prefer adjustable objective and adjustable magnification if at all possible.  It will be mounted on an Accushot 1 piece mount.

What do youzzz say?

Hey, Mamba,

With a $60 ceiling, you're going to be pretty limited.  That said, there are several choices of Leapers scopes within your price limit.  Pretty much all are variable power, AO, and TS rated, so should hold up fine.  Mine has a 30mm tube, so was more expensive, but I've been really happy with it, and I can't say the same for my Simmons 44 Mag.  I've never had much use for anything Tasco in optics.  If you can find one at your price, the BSA 2-7x32 AO is a pretty good scope, and I think it would hold up for you.  Not as bright as one with a bigger objective, but pretty good.  Sorry I can't be more help, good luck.

Tasco scope if it has a serial number on the bottom of the scope they  have a  Limited Lifetime Warranty, send it in and they will replace or repair it.

I had one of mine go bad and the replaced it, (I have six of them and have two more ordered)
This is where I bought mine for $28.00 each.

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/default.asp   also has some great prices on scopes.  I purchased my last 2 leapers scopes from them,,, service and price was great and the scopes have been performing flawlessly.  One of the scopes  is on my RWS 350 .22 and the other is on my GAMO 1250 .22   here's the link for the scope I went with.  Good luck with whatever you choose.

BM, Take Rabbits advice and look at Natchez. I did and found some great deals on the Bushnell's and Simmons. The BSA Air rifle scopes are ok for springers to. If ya just need one for plinking around then Wallis's scopes would work fine.
