How`s their accuracy?  I`ve read on some blowgun blogs that some of those guys are trying to cook up some paralyzing brew to knock out their prey.  Seems some of the prey hit still manage to run/fly away.  What`s their killing range?

I have become pretty good with it..  Birds at 20ft. no problem, rabits and other varmits at 30ft. is easy..

I found some special darts online that i sharpen razor sharp and they kill just like a bow would...

Here is a well used one for ya to see.. blood has a way of staining and coroding steel tho..

Very cool tool!  I've been thinking of trying one out.  That is one serious dart.

Me too...I was going to buy one of those aluminum blowguns a few months back....when it was still warm and hot outside....but decided not too because I`ve too much "toys" already.  heh heh .....airguns, bows, slingshot...and not enough time to get extremely accurate with them.

Being a fellow blowgunner, I would definitely send a dart on it's way to the boiler room of that rabbit. By the way how does that razor tipped 62 caliber fly does it fly pretty straight.
Just imagine you woke up one morning and every animal you\'ve ever killed was in your yard. I think I might need a bigger yard........

Hell yeah! Provided it was in range and I was using the broadhead darts.

I just noticed that yours is the .625" bore. Mine is the .40 cal and I like it a lot. Have been wanting the .625". Need to get one.

My buddy and I used to shoot ours all the time. We found that the plastic broadheads would go all the way through a good sized raw baking potato. Sliced right through. He was making some broadhead darts with steel heads like that. One guy who bought some from him claimed to have used them on feral cats with great results.

You sure got right on top of that little bunny, he is in trouble.

I was making blow guns when I was in the 25th ID at Schofield Barracks back in the late 70's.

I did a pretty detailed study of how much air a man could push in one breath by blowing up ballons and measuring them.  I finally figured out that a .375 inch tube six feet long was just about the ideal for me (at the time a 28 year old runner).  Anyway I settled on using golf tee's as the flights for my darts and bicycle spokes 6 inches long as the points.  I pounded down the ends of the spokes flat and shaped a double edged broad head on them, much like the darts you are shooting.

At twenty feet I could shoot one of them through a mature banana tree.  For those that don't know a banana tree is about as soft as an onion and 8 to ten inches thick.

As it turns out, you can get .375" tube aluminum tube and plastic golf tees and bicycle spokes at about any hardware store.  The tube comes in 8' lengths so you can get two 4 footers out of one piece.  For hunting though you'll probably want a five or six foot tube.

There is a lot of information on the web about blow guns now days.

Always have a couple of cough drops handy.  Don't want any misfires.
