P1000--scope only conversion
« on: December 21, 2008, 02:41:51 PM »
Has anyone removed the rear sight adjustment bolt from the Powerline 1000?

I tried allen wrench only (twisted wrench) and heat with wrench (another twisted wrench)

No joy.

Secondary to that question, how is the barrel retained in the hinge block?

idk about the barrel, but i just cut the bolt, sanded it down flat, and i'm gonna have it camo'd from shadow(whole gun in winter camo)...you could also just reblue it

Thanks, Dave

I'm considering the cut-off as a last resort.  I really don't want to disturb the finish.

Of course, bluing is another skill I need to learn....

Christmas success!

I rocked the bolt fore and aft with a pair of parallel pliers.  This deformed the threads enough to break the glue in the bolt hole.  The hole is only 4 threads deep.
