Career"s first kills
« on: December 26, 2008, 06:33:30 PM »
Have been diying to get the Career out for a hunt but
ever since my scuba tank failed test its just been sitting there
teaseing me. just couldn"t take it any more so I went down
to the scuba shop and hired one. Filled it to 200bar and took it
down the river to site the new scope in after about 20 29gr pellets
I was hitting a coke can at about 60 metres. it shoots quite flat to
10 to 50 m with the centre of the cross hair after the drop 1 mill dot.
but hell it had a hair trigger "not knowing that was going to become a issue"
So it was all go....Up at 5"30 the next mornning and off up the hills.
walking up the hill heaps of bunnys seen my first target of the day up with the gun
flicked the saftey off and bang it went off, figgered the trigger is so fine I must have hit it.
cocked it and carred on next bunny same thing. Ok I wont use the saftey Well after i had
emptyed the mag into every bush on the hill I desided to go home.

After pulling the stock & trigger unit off I found what screw ajusted the trigger
so I took it right in so it had as much travel as I could get out of it. back togeather
and wait for evening  8:00pm.

Back up the hills and this time it was sweet.
the first bunny was 30m out could just see it though a bush head was hidden
so I got a chest shoot droped him where he sat took out his heart / lungs & dam
did he leak didn't think he was going to stop so I could put it in the pack.

not long I seen one sitting on the other side of a small gully about 70/80metres
nice clear shot so I lay on the ground rested the gun on a nob of grass and lined his head up
droped a mill dot   POP as the pellet hit , when I got over there I had got him though the neck
40mm lower than I had aimed "Not bad"

Think I will like this gun

Peter:

You know on those very long shots in the southern hemisphere, the coriolsis forces are bass-ackwards.  Excellent long range shooting, Mr. Kiwi.  You know, it is OK to shoot them at more manageable distances, like inside of 50 yards or so if you would like to.  Hope you get your air tank thing straightened out soon, will be putting the Career Infinity / .22 cal through its paces on a regular basis and sending more pics from down under.  Good shooting, mate.
