Considering the hole you made, I'm very surprised the little bugger moved more than a foot. Excellent shot.

I am looking at that picture and since I own a TF-89 also it looks like that nutter is really big or the TF-89 has shrunk a bit..:) Great shooting with open sights.

Tell me, what is your overall opinion of your TF-89?

Your right Gene, the TF is chopped. The barrel has been shorten, and I love it. Very easy to handle and maneuver around, but pretty loud and some good recoil

sorry I thought you were bethleheim PA.   i MUST BE MISTAKEN :)

ANYWAY here is how my rules are set up..
Not all states have laws that make sense. For instance, Texas will allow exotics, ferals, and non-game species to be hunted with an airgun, but doesn't allow air guns for game animals, even small ones like squirrels. So you can hunt an Axis deer with an airgun, as well as hogs, but you can't shoot a squirrel with one. Go figure!

Other states, such as Pennsylvania, don't allow air gun hunting of any kind. So be sure to check your local and state regulations before going hunting with your airgun. You want to be sure of your legal status before an unfortunate set of circumstances messes up and otherwise enjoyable hunt.

I thought so...:) I was thinking about the same thing but I would hate to chop the one I have. You are right about it being easier to handle though. It seems the barrel is as long as those RWS 350's and just a bit front heavy. I know when I did my RWS 34 it became a jewel to handle and very well balanced to say the least. My only concern I think would be the cocking . If the TF-89's barrel were shorter, it would be allot harder to cock. But it is a fantastic air rifle just as it is.

Gene, it actually is no harder to cock then a 350 Mag. I have  Dave2228's 350 Mag right now and that is still just a bit tougher to cock, and alot more to handle. The 350 is alot heaver, and has just as much recoil. I'll send you the TF-89 and tell me what you think. You can test is out and see if you want to do those mods to your TF-89, and while you have it you can find it in your heart to give it a once over and a clean bill of health, maybe get rid of some of the recoil and noise for a broke, down on his luck member??  :D  I had to give it a try :emoticon:

Well, my overall opinion of the TF-89 is a good rifle at a good price. But that's it. Before I got the TF, I was shooting Dave 2228's RWS 350 Mag that has been tuned. This was the first serious air rifle I had ever shot. So I was pretty ignorant to how well of quality it really is. I got the TF expecting it to be somewhat like the 350, but it it no where near it. The TF shoots great, accurate, and very consistent!! But the trigger is somewhat sloppy, the wood feels cheap, and it feels somewhat primitive when compared to the RWS 350 Mag. But then again, it did not cost $500, and it does what is most important. Hits hard, accurate, and VERY consistent. Overall I am happy with the purchase, especially because it is SO much easier to handle then the 350. I wanted a shorter, lighter, and just as powerful rifle as the 350, and that is what I got. Just not as good quality.

THat's great Robert. I can have mine and yours side by side and shoot both of them for comparison.I would be glad to take out some of the recoil for you and make it allot smoother to shoot as well. I found that a bit of a trigger tune improves the already good triggerinto a fantastic trigger..:) I guess you can't tell that I love my TF-89..:)
