Hey, Shadow, haven't said hi yet so Howdy!  Check out the Gamo gate, Pig vs. Pellet; about 1/2 way down the page.  This vid generated lots of comment, but the consensus opinion was an emphatic "BULL*&#%"!!!!  At best, it's a crock, at worst, criminally stupid.  But that was just the general opinion.

Hello David and I was thinking the same thing . maby the pellet dipped in knock out juice first. I plan on doing some bore hunting with hunting buddy next summer and I'm sure not going to be using my shadow sport. Dont want to end on a ( WHEN ANIMALS ATTACK VIDEO) those tusk are nasty.

David's right about the stupid thing for sure. Even though they had bay-dogs and hopefully someone off camera had some heavy-duty backup, that was the dumbest $#!t I've ever seen. Yes I think it could happen if you were shooting Gamo's baddest springer (what is it like 1600 fps advertized?) but even then you'd have to hit that pig right in the eye, in order for that pellet to reach the brain/brainstem.

I happen to have a pig skull from a hunt and have been shooting it just to find out. So far everything I've shot at it has penetrated the near side, but this is with no other tissue to hamper the pellets path and I have no idea how far it would actually travel into the brain. Probably just far enough to perform some kind of mini-lobotomy and create some sort of psychotic, man eating, wild boar from hell...sorry I got carried away by my imagination.

Is the video bull$#!t, yes and not so sure at the same time. First the guy says something about it being a 150lb pig, well if that was 150lbs of pig then I've got five pounds of afternoon delight. As far as the actual shot taking that pig out, well he was sitting right on top of the thing and it is feasable that he got enough penetration to stun the animal, allowing an opportunity to finish it off while the camera wasn't looking...

I read a post somewhere about somone shooting 15lb shoats(sp?) with a .177 cal airgun, but for me it'll still be three or four bay-dogs, one bulldog and a cheap millitary surplus bayonet I found at the pawn shop, for pigs of any size. Or my .270WSM if no dogs.

     Later,
          Mike

LOL Dookie.......... I love it...:)  The only sad part is that there is a video.. Now the young ones will think they can kill anything with raptor pellets and a gamo rifle.... :(...   Gamo should retract the video and make a true statement on how they really did kill that pig..

Darwin Award via Point Blank Ammo usage

I honestly think it's quite possible, but I also think the pig was leashed and shot with the barrel touching the poor things eye.  I think if nothing else it is a stupid thing to show poor hunting habits (hunting with an undersized weapon), this just gives people an excuse to take pot shots at whatever they see...."Billy Joe Bob got a wild hog with his Gamo, betcha I could get me a deer with mine!!!".....it's kinda funny, maybe we'll get some Darwin Award candidates out of this, you know the award people get for getting killed doing the stupidest things?  Well maybe someone with try to Raptor themselves a mountain lion and get dragged away and eaten, thereby saving the human race from this individuals possible offspring.  Just a thought, maybe we should make a video of someone hunting elephants with their Raptors, maybe we can clean up our world, one Darwin Award winner at a time!

Guys I'll say this, on that,

Fred Bearkilled Polar Bear, Elephant, Lion, and many other BIG game animals with a bow and arrow. Now I was a kid when he did these feats, but I knew he had two professional hunters backing him up, with rifles. Did he ever need them ? I don't know.

Did Gamo kill that pig (bore) yes ! how ????? I hunted on Mom's Farm in PA, our group of Bow Hunters helped around the farm from time to time, Mom needed a big pig slaughtered, and a friend of mine, who has slaughtered a few pigs for her couldn't do the job with a .22 cal. long rifle, Tommy called me to bring my rifle, he said that he was just making the animal madder then H3ll. I brought up my 30-06, the end ! Pigs and bores are tough animals.

I have hunted game farms were the game could be hand feed, I never hunted anything but birds there either, they were good eatin, and could fly.

In the end, I beleive it's just a sale's pitch and I'm sure Gamo got a lot of feedback from big game hunter's about it, not good eather. Ed

I believe it is a sales pitch...I read somewhere that the pig was actually tranquilized before the on camera shot. From the video, you can kinda tell that there's some truth to it.

I've been pig huntin quite a few times & I've NEVER seen a bore that docile with a person so close to it. Everyone that I've seen has been extremely aggressive.
