PCP
« on: December 29, 2008, 05:16:23 AM »
Hi Folks, newbie here. Been shooting and tuning springers for a bit now. RWS is my favorite at this point. This year it's time to check out PCPs'. Have a chance at a .45 Sam Yang. Seeing as I know nothing of these guns, would really appreciate some input from those in the know. I'm in a couple sportmans' clubs, so have plenty of room to shoot. Want it strictly for hunting although I will have to shoot some paper to get it sighted in and play around with. Thanks, this time I'm getting info FIRST!! Thanks everyone and have a great day - Lee

Sorry we missed this post before Lee.  I've owned a couple Korean guns, but none of the big bores (although I've shot the Dragonslayer a few times).  If power is what you want, and it's for a pure hunting situation where you don't need a bunch of shots, then the Korean guns are hard to beat.  I think Melloroadman has a big bore Korean gun, but not sure which model, maybe he will chime in since I don't know a bunch about the model you are looking at.

missed this one also. We had an older 909 ".45" the two tube model, with a few small mods it shot 250fpe and grouped as well as any big bore made at 200yards (or closer if hunting, 200 was just strictly target). The build quality is nice, very easy to worke on if you like to/need to, not too much you can do with the trigger but is fine for hunting anything larger than an FT target kill zone. I have some pictures of it stripped if it ever helped.

So by now, did uyou buy it?
