What is so special in B26
« on: December 31, 2008, 06:08:07 AM »
Looks like everyone is talking about B26. What is so special in it compared for example to B21 or B30?

They are just a great all around springer with a good wood stock and excellent trigger on them. Very well balanced and for the price you will not find anything that really compares to the quality.

The latter two guns you mentioned are much heavier.

The B 26 series air rifle from Xisico is the best. Accurate, smooth delivery, great trigger(better with a Mike Melick lube tune) right out of the box. The Chinese manufacturer did a good job cloning this one. Best price around, under $200.00, money well spent.

The "special" part of the BAM B-26 is a guy by the name of Mike Melick.  Unless, of course you are talking custom stocks, the the "special" part of a B-26 is a guy named Howard (Howie).

The others are correct,,, the B26 is a fine shooter for sure.  I have 2 of em and they were great right from the box,,, even better with a tune.   Great triggers, power and accuracy for a great price.

Does Mike Melick have a web site to browse.

The BAM guns are copied from other successful guns. BAM and the importer Xisico make no secret of this.

In particular, the B26 is an improvement over the first effort to make a copy of the Beeman R9.
The R9 is one of the best spring air rifles ever made, and the B26 is a pretty good copy by all reviews. It has a good trigger (a copy of the Rekord trigger), and is accurate.
For me, I like its size and its styling, and it is hefty but not heavy. Easy enough to lift and support for off-hand shooting.

model    length      weight (lb)
           OA    barrel                    modeled after
B21     49.1    20     9.9              RWS model 48
B26     43       16     7.3              Beeman R9
B30     44.5    17.3  9.4              RWS 48 (shorter)

The B26 is more of a carbine, and lighter. Not quite as much power, but very accurate, has a good trigger.
