QB78 Trigger Sear Tilted
« on: December 31, 2008, 07:28:16 AM »
I took apart my trigger to polish the mating surfaces and to grease the pivot points.
I noticed that the sear tilts quite a bit to the left.
The reason appears to be that the sear pivot hole is quite a bit larger than the pivot pin.
Because of this, the sear spring pushes up on the right side and tilts the sear several degrees to the left.
Is this normal with the QB78?

Check the pin.  Usually the sear pin is not a right fit to the housing...it "wiggles" a bit.  Part of your lean might be that the pin is being pushed up.  Normally, BOTh ends are in a recess, which limits how much it can move.

Yes,,,the sear is usually a loose fit on the pin.  Would be bettter if it were a tighter fit, but it dos need to rotate freely....hasn't been a problem, but might vary trigger pull a bit.
