China or Daisy ? Question....
« on: December 31, 2008, 01:05:53 PM »
Hello and I hope everyone has a Happy New Year. I was wanting some opinions please. Been thinking about a cheap project gun. A guy near me has a Daisy/Winchester 800x he wants to sell, have'nt seen it yet. Waiting for him to decide a price, He said, would have to think about how much he wants for it?  I don't know what the average used one is really worth.

Anyway would this be a good project for tuning, or I was considering a cheap Chinese gun,
b3-1, or b2-2  a few bucks under 40.00 shipped.

I had a Turkish powerline 1000s that I never did tune, it had power but was like shooting a jack hammer and the trigger was really bad.

All coments appreciated...thanks, James

The B3-1's are fun, but the trigger is not adjustable either. I have 3 and have each shooting accuratly out to about 60 yds and at about 700+fps. The Quest trigger can be replaced  with a cdt unit which is adjustable. The quest is better made and finished overall, but I have seen them on sale new for less than $90, so used should be priced accordingly. If you can get it for the 40 you said the B3 would run with shipping, I would go that way. Crosman sells replacement springs for under 10 and seals to. You can also use that spring in a B3.

Ooow, I need to read. Sorry, I thought you said quest. As Roseanna Roseanna Danna always said-Nevermind
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

You might want to read my posts on the Daisy 1000. They have changed the trigger to a much better one. I really like mine. It is vastly superior to any of the AGs mentioned. It can be bought on sale at Academy Sports for $49-$69. Replace the cheap 3X9 scope with a $40 Tasco Golden Antler scope and you will have a very nice combo for under $100.
