Millett Scope 4x16x44mm
« on: January 15, 2009, 12:36:15 AM »
Anyone try a millett scope on a springer? Natchez had the Buck Gold 4x16 x44mm for 89 bucks so I ordered one. I recieved it yesterday and it is big and heavy. I'm undecided on whether or not to keep it and figured I'd ask before I sent it back. The plan was to put it on an R9 to replace the Banner 4x12. Put the Banner on my 440 and the BSA on my sons Delta. Millet is owned by Bushnell so I thought the Millets might share some of the characteristics of them. I figured with the Buck Gold being close to the top of the line of what Millett offers it might be a good scope.

I just contacted Millett to ask about the scope on an air rifle. Turns out the number is to Bushnell and they said the scope is airgun rated and using it on an air gun will not void any warranties and should not be a problem. We'll see. I would still like to know if anyone has tried one though. I'm going to keep the one I ordered and put it on the R9.

Gene, you are saying that the millett is no good? I read the article that is being recomended  and thought I would ask about the Millet Scopes anyway. Thought someone might have tried one. I'd hate to send it back and come to find someone has had good luck with them.

EDIT: I see that it does have AO. Ignore my comment.

Archer292 -- does that scope have adjustable objective (AO) on it? If not, it probably won't be a good scope for air rifles.

I did a search on them and have seen many bad reviews. I will most likely send it back. The reason I posted in the first place was to see if anyone had any experience with them. I guess I should have done a google search first. I guess my son will hav to wait until I find a scope  for my gun before I can pass one down to him. I would get another Banner but I don't think it's any better than the BSA that came on my 440 hunter. I guess I'll keep looking.

No I did not imply that. I just said that Bushnell makes the Tasco scopes as well.

Bushnell makes a great scope and I would think that if Bushnell was making scopes under a different name then they would be as worthy. I have about 5 different models of Bushnell scopes and just ordered another one..:) Great glass and good eye relief and of course great quality as well.
