B26 Spring Upgrade?
« on: January 16, 2009, 05:33:11 PM »
I'm planning on buying a new MM-B26 from Mike and would like to know the pros and cons of going with the Maccari Merlin spring upgrade.

I would put some rounds through it first then decide if you really need to change anything.

I just got my B26 from Mike a couple of weeks ago.  It has the Maccarri Merlin XL spring.  It is very smooth shooting, and it is easy to cock.
See this post for velocities  http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=13301&posts=2#M106229
It appears that you can get factory velocity (or close to it), with shims, etc.  Talk to Mike and see what he recommends according to your wants or needs.
I am happy with the Merlin spring, but I have never shot one without it.
