Gene Curtis in his Natural Habitat
« on: January 17, 2009, 12:23:10 PM »
Hey Gene!

Really enjoyed the afternoon spent shooting with you.  Thank goodness for the space heaters in your shop and the double doors opening onto the shooting range.

Well, guys, I held my own with Gene when it came to the PCP's, but when he brought out the BSA springer, it was no contest.  Gene emailed the target pics.  I will try to post them shortly.

OK, so if you shoot in the shop, I guess it is a Shop post.  Gene and I shot our AA-S410-ERB / 22 heads up, his BSA Ultra Multishot 177 vs. my BSA Scorpion /177, and his BSA Lightning (?) 177 vs my Gamo Hunter Elite / 177.  Each target is a 10-shot group at 27 yards.

Top row, L to R, Gene BSA Lightning, Tommy Gamo HE, Gene AA-S410, Tommy AA-S410.
Bottom row, L to R, Gene BSA Ultra multishot, Tommy BSA Scorpion, Gene BSA Lightning, Tommy Gamo HE

The last two were a rematch of the springers.  I asked for a "Mulligan" after dropping one on the first 10-shot group down in the 1-ring, but darned if on the second round if I didn't drop two!  I think there  may be a clue why on one of these shots, but it was a really cold day, and Gene was shooting with the same "Hennesy Handicap" as me!  LOL.  Great day and great fun hanging with the big guy.  Thanks for the hospitality, Gene.

PS:  Hey Ed:  I just notices how well the brown leaves and gray background of the custom camo Gamo blend with the flesh tones of my rosy cheek and my gray hair!  Good job!

Haha, I know a guy that looks just like that guy, only his name is Jerry and he lives in Texas!!!  Never had seen a picture of Tommy, but man there's no mistakin' that those two are kin to each other, 'cept I think Jerry shoots right handed.  Can't wait to see Tommy and Gene in the native Texan habitat here in a few months, I'm really looking forward to it.  Man you guys have some nice looking shooters, guess I'll have to rub a little polish into mine to keep up!
