Hey folks! I've got one of those old school Crosman Medalist 1322s. I am just guessing, but I think the thing is about 13 years old probably judging by the condition and guessing from the serial number which starts with 096. I'd really like to make this a nice little shooter but I am not very skilled and don't want to ruin what I can't afford to replace right now. SO I need either idiot-proof advice or someone who's willing to dig into this gun for me. I don't have much to trade or a lot of cash, being that I'm a full time student working on a teaching degree. Anyone able to help me out or point me in the right direction? It shoots, and it overall pretty nice all things considered, but sure wish the breech was a little different. It seems to pump smoothly and overall I like it even though I mostly bought it for my fiancée to target shoot with me. We're both lefties and appreciate the fact that the stock grips are comfortable.

Hi Michael. Does your gun have a bolt or the round pull bolt?? I have several 1377/1322,s & 2240/50/60,s. I love working on them. (By round pull bolt,, I mean does it not have the traditional bolt, but a "round sleeve sliding bolt??) Do you live close to SC.??  Tim. PS.,, If there is somthing I determine I can do to help you with your gun there would be no charge,,,you just pay the shipping. 8)

It is not difficult to mod these 1377/1322's.

I modded my 1377 in my own garage and converted it into a
1322 because the 1322's are no longer sold.

Yes that helps Michael,,,that is the older style I was refering to. What does not help, is the fact that I just spent 30 min. one finger typing a responce to you,,,,went back to lookat your post,, & LOST my reply!!!! :0  In a nut shell,,, I dont think alot of the newer parts like a steel breach will work on the older style guns. I recently traded one just like that away. They are still good guns mind you. They require an extra step to reload. Ironicly,,,I just made a post to someone else about this same gun at another forum today!! :p Im gonna post this now before I lose it AGAIN. "Mad Tim".

Yeah I've heard that you have to tap a new screw hole or two to get the breech to fit right. To be honest, I just wanted a .22 pumper that had enough power to hunt small game IF it ever came to that (y'know, for camping or whatever). I'm not married to this particular gun, should I try to sell it or something? I paid too much for it, I know. Am I better off getting a 1377 to try to convert? All this is new to me. And nobody answered my question on the Crosman Gate.

Yeah, I really don't like the breach that's on it now. No option for optics, and the stainless one has the nice little handle on it too. The pumpers are really nice for several reasons and not having to buy CO2 is one of the biggest. I actually have never owned a CO2 air gun. I like the pistol format because it's light and easy to carry compared to a rifle. Also it's easy to turn into a carbine if you get a used stock for it. I definitely like the .22 caliber better than the .177s, how about you?
