A little tip for AA owners

But it only applies to the rifles with the old style quick connect, the one that looks like a giant foster fitting (they're called Faster fittings, BTW).  Have you ever needed to get all the air out but really don't have the time or inclination to shoot the thing a couple of hundred times?  Well, here's the answer.  Take off the end cap and look at the fill fitting.  Notice that little nipple on the end?  If you drop a dime in the cap and screw it back on GENTLY, you will soon hear the air hissing out.  Go slow and pay attention, as the pressure drops, it will start draining faster, back off the cap a little.  You don't want it draining too fast, although to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure why.  I'm basing that on info I had when I owned Air Force guns.  That's it, 5 minutes or so and it'll dump the last little bit, now you can ship it without any problems, or take it on an airplane.  Later.

The reason for taking your time when emptying the air tube is to avoid getting moisture in the tube.  Quickly venting the air is what causes the moisture to be created.
