Hello Marvin,

Great post ! I don't read that many post on the Discovery Forum :) I'm afraid of being addicted ti the DARK SIDE.

But I take it that you have had some work done at Mountain Air, or parts, that have made these great strings !

Now you see why I don't read very many PCP posts. hehehe

Marvin 40 shots that consistent is outstanding!

What velocity range can you get with your power adjuster?

With this spring guide this is it . The guide starts to rest on the striker when you pull the bolt back if I go more than 4 turns . I do not know if this is the guide Roy uses with his power adjusters or not . I could always shorten the guide some if I wanted to but I think for now I will leave it as is . With my home made short guide I could get twice the turns out of it but the springs would chant in a short period of time and power would drop off and the fps gain was not much higher . This seems to be a good balance of air usage to power . At least for what I am using the rifle for at this time . Marvin

Thanks Marvin.
I was curious if you could turn the power down to 5 or 600 fps.

Not with this spring if you look at the 100 shot string back a page you will see what it did with 10.5 pellets . If you had a little lighter spring or clipped a coil or two off this one you could get there if you wanted to .Marvin

Can you snip a few coils from the stock Disco spring to get the same effect as the 2250 spring?   I want to power up more than down and had some delrin spring guides made but they fit Disco spring (wider) as opposed to the lighter 2250 spring.

Thanks

My Discovery and 2250 springs are the same inside and out side diameters . The difference is in the wire size and the guide I have will work with both springs . I have not heard of there being a difference in them as you stated before . I have never tried to clip the Discovery spring so I can not answered that question . But if you do a search here Kirbby may have done that when he first got his Discovery and there might be some info on it or give him a P.M. Marvin

Thanks.   I ordered one (2250 spring) from Crosman and it looked exactly like the one that came with the Discovery.   If it is the same length and ID then perhaps I need to take a closer  look at it.

Its not that much lighter when you try and compress it with your fingers either . My 2250 spring is a little brighter in color .Marvin
