Trigger lubrication.

Is moly paste too slick to use in a trigger. I just did the one in my RS2 and I am getting ready to put it back together. I have seen references to using moly paste or clear tar. I am not sure which way to go.

In my opinion, neither are good to use. They are too thick and heavy and will hold on to any dirt, crud and grit which can cause wear on the parts in the trigger as well as drag. You would be much the wiser to use a 30wt non-detergent oil with a bit of moly mixed it and apply just a few drops on the internal, pivot points, spring and sear area.

Take one tablespoon of Moly grease and mix it thoroughly with two ounces of 30wt non-detergent motor oil. Shake well. Serve as needed. Use sparingly on any metal to metal surfaces. Remember, a little of Moly goes a long way and this is enough to last a life time. Good for the trigger and all cocking pivot points and links in the gun.
