I got the Mike Melick B-40 today.  Twas nearly dark when I got home so I sat on the porch and dieseled to my hearts content.  I didn't count how many shots, but it quit smoking and it is a pretty nice shooting gun.  A little bit of recoil but less than my shadow.  
This rifle is nothing like my Anschutz or CM-2 in terms of weight.  I don't find the rifle particularly heavy.  I was anticipating heavier.
The finish is "off the gun" satin with a very slight orange peel but there looks to be sufficient thickness of finish to do a hand rubbed satin but I'm much too lazy.  I do that kind of stuff for work, I don't want to infect my playtime with it.  
I'll have my choice of three scopes to put on this one and I think it's going to be the Bushnell 3-12X40AO and I'll put the Leapers 3-9X40AO IR on the 26.  
Anyway, I have good feelings about this gun judging by the way it feels when I shot it.  
When I get the scope mounted and zeroed I'm going to start spending time in the FT seated position.  
I'd love to put apertures on it and shoot it offhand.  If a sling would work on it I would probably be in heaven.

Congratulations Charlotte, on the arrival of your new baby..:) I assume he weighs in the range of 9 lbs 4 oz..:) I took home a B-40 but had to adopt her out because she just weighed to much for me..:) Hope he works out for you and happy shooting girl..:)

Congrats on the newly arrived B 40.....she should be an excellent shooter especially with a Mike tune in her.

:D  :D  :D  I hear ya.  It takes my daughter to help me on that.  Once I get the scope mounted I'll be ready to put some up.  The scope and mount should be here tomorrow.

Charlotte, Congradulations on your new shooter, What caliber did you get her in? I truly enjoy mine, have her in .22cal, she is definitily a tack driver, accuracy... many holes in one. Keep us posted......Shoot Safe.....Shoot Straight and Enjoy....Bill
