Co2 Airguns First Post :-)
« on: January 28, 2009, 07:00:37 PM »

I can't believe this Gate has received no posts yet ? I know that many of you have 22XX Co2 guns in various configurations, so lets get this Gate Rolling :)

I myself, do not yet have a 22XX airgun, but I do have my favorite Model 600, that is very accurate with iron sights.

So who's interested in shootin a Internet match ???

I have a 2400 crosman custom with a BSA red dot, shoots much better than I am capable of. Using duct seal and a cardboard box for practice. Presently trying to perfect a two handed hold that will also work on my powder burners. Any help on grip strategy would be appreciated. John

Hey John,

I use the cupping method, you hold the pistol as you usually would, then cup the hand holding the gun with your other hand. Being right handed, I cup the right hand with the left hand, hold my right arm stiff, straight out and locked, cupping my right hand firmly, with my left elbow slightly bent. I bring my right cheek down and lock it into my shoulder. Then pull into the pistol with my left hand. Now you don't need that much pull, with bb guns, just enough to stabilize the pistol.

BA
There are several stances, the 2 most popular are Weaver and Isosoles (sp?).
BB described the Weaver, although the stance does not call for lowering your head, rather raising the pistol higher.  If you ever saw a Steven Segal movie, he uses his own version of the Weaver.
The Isosoles is where you straight arm both arms in front of you forming an Isosoles triangle with your chest as the 3rd side.
There are pros and cons for both, use whichever works for YOU.
