Printing Targets and Paper for Postal Challenge
« on: January 29, 2009, 03:52:12 AM »
Will Kinko's or another printing store print the 10 Meter Air gun targets that were selected for the Postal Challenge thread? I mean with the: "This Target Courtesy of www.uspalma.com" (Watermark).
The word "Courtesy" makes me think, YES.

As I have said earlier, my printer hasn't worked for a long time.  I would prefer to spend money on new guns and accessories than a new printer.

Also, what is the best kind of paper to get for printing targets? Regular copy paper doesn't work very well at all,l I have drawn my own targets on used printer paper and it rips pretty bad. I have read somewhere about 30# or 40# (guessing, don't remember exact weight) paper, business card paper, I believe the article said.

Any suggestions??

Hello Roy,

Being quite new to this sport, I can only offer what has worked for me so far! I'm sure the others can come up with some other solutions that work better but this is what I do sometimes. Print it out on regular paper, then spray the back with a bit of paint! It seems to hold the paper together more!

As for the target, I can give you the sizes of the circles if you want to draw one up! Remember, there are 15 of them!

If you can get a peice of cardboard behind the target you can print on cheaper paper, and it still makes perfect holes as the cardboard adds lots of rigidity.

I think I used 60 pound paper.  I think they called it card stock.  I have is 'someplace' in the house.
The original recommendation was 120 pound paper, but that was way beyond what my printer could handle.
At Kinkos or similar, you have to ask how heavy paper they can print on, as you will be limited to their equipment and paper.

I've been 110lb paper (cardstock actually) for targets. It seems to work pretty well.
For home use, you can get it at places like Staples or Walmart (haven't had any trouble with it my printer).
It's a standard paper product so Kinko's shouldn't have any trouble using it if you have them print your targets.

This works great in an inkjet printer, but it has to be trimmed from 9x12 to 8.5x12...

save a little with lighter version...
