Dave1899's B26
« on: January 30, 2009, 01:21:39 AM »

Dave posted this up on the Classifieds a week or so ago. I am not saying this to make the others feel bad, but this rifle was better than advertised. Dave sent it out early, when I sent the payment, and it arrived here last night. He even called me at work to tell me he had tracked it to my door.

The girl got home before I did, opened it up and mounted the scope (I was texting some advice, but she's good), and had bored out a quarter sized void in a target by the time I got home. The trigger was set the lightest of any gun I own, with nary a grit or a bump, a true "thought trigger". Beautiful piece of wood, too. She tends to compare things to her R7, and said the trigger was "really nice". That's a pretty good yardstick and yup, it's nice. Supposedly MM had a hand in tuning the gun before Dave had it, and in any case it is a dialed-in little pellet launcher. The 4x BSA is a great little choice for the looks and balance of this gun.

I will put up some pics later but his are still on p2 of the Classifieds. Just wanted to share the happy ending!

Thanks to Dave1899, for a great deal on a great gun. He was right about something else, too- I am not sure she is going to give this one up, now. I had trouble prying it away to get a few shots of my own, and it is supposed to be for a guy at work. We think the trigger might be too light for him. :D

Is there such a thing as a left handed stock for the B26?

left handed stocks are only available from custom stock guys, not enough demand for the factory to do, but it's another thing for me to mention....run the screw behind the trigger in 1/4 turn at a time to increase pull weight....

Thanks, Mike! For me as a hunter, it could be a little heavier. For my in-house bench shooter, it seems to fit very well.

Really we are looking for an excuse not to turn it over to the "rightful" owner. I am also going to mention how "loud" it is (it isn't). They have those really nice Beeman's at Wally World, maybe he would be happier with something like that, etc....

I have the B26-2 but Leftie can't shoot it, and this one is really nice.

Dave, I'm glad you got it quickly. Did "the girl" mention anything about the packaging? I did my best to protect your new baby on her coast to coast journey. I think you might be right, that trigger is set kinda light for someone new to the sportso you may have to keep her. Remember though, the good deal on that rifle was for GTA family members so if you do let your buddy take it he'll have to join the GTA Hope to see some pic's of you and Ms eagle Eye shooting your new B26.

Yeah, the Huggies were a great choice for the new baby! She said, "he must have kids", which puzzled me until I saw the packing. It was also double-boxed, in a Diana box! Now that is the ultimate clone.

We'll get those pics up and burn some lead over the weekend. Thanks again!
