Help! Side lever re-assembly
« on: January 30, 2009, 09:45:10 AM »
Well I knew it would happen. I got this old Chinese side lever airgun and decided I wanted to 'practice' with it tuning. I read the Fast Deer tune instructions, but mine has an extra part that is giving me fits on re-assemble.

Here are the parts

Go ahead and rub iit in while your at it. I deserve it. But I would really like to get the gun back together.

Can you help me out???

I don't even know if it is a Fast Deer. It's all in Chinese.

Never mind. Only 12 new cuss words later and I got it back together and it shoots SWEET.

Story.

A friend at work volunteered to let me dig into it. I had not seen the gun. He shows up with this old rusted POS. Looks like is was left out in the yard by the kids and forgoten about for years.......

Took it apart and did what little I know about a tune. Basically just cleaned it up and lubed it. I did file and polish a few things though.

Then I re-blued the barrel(which was totally rusted!) It came out so so but WAY better than it once was.

The stock was a wreck so I sanded it down and gave it a quick spray can camo job.

Cleaned the barrel and lapped it with the non absorbing compound to help it also.

I'm going to talk him out of giving it to his Grandson though. This gun came with no safety.

I had fun and plan on keeping it a few days to see what she will do.

Will do.

I'll chrony it tomorrow and see if it will group. Still beltching a little smoke right now though. It sounds like it might make 650 fps and blows through beer cans at 10 yards without wiggling them.

No scope rails on this one. So far its a can killing machine at 10yards.

Took her out for a test this morning. Showed 657fps across the chrony and even with the crappy sights, shoots pretty good. Quarter size groups at 12 yards. I lined up the sights at the 0600 position and thats where she points!

If you should ever need parts the B3-1 AK style rifle will fit, that rifle appears to be a B-7, same action as the B3 but with the sporter stock.....
