Another rifle coming soon
« on: January 30, 2009, 09:49:44 AM »
I think I'm gonna hit the button in the near future on a QB-57 in .22 to assist my .177

Anyone else considering one this year?

Bought one last year, nice shooter.  Used it to take some pests in the backyard.  Mine absolutely loves those cheap Daisy wadcutters that they sell  at Walmart and those wads do a heck of job on starlings....

Very nice little guns. I have one in .22, and the gf actually whacked a crow with it. They have endless mod possibilities.

I bought two at once, and lube tuned them within my limited abilities. Gave the better one to a colleague. As I recall, mine chronied at a very consistent 550 fps.

They have their little quirks but are well worth the investment. I really didn't find the break down feature very useful, since you really need to reef on the barrel tightener (like with a rag and channel locks) to keep the barrel and forearm assembly from twisting. I did not find the iron sights useful at all, for this and other reasons. Some guys built up the indexing pin and slot with weld to tighten that up.

Anyway, the thing is so short that you don't really need to take it down any further. The trigger actually came out pretty decent, with some work.

and see what becomes of the new XS-B16.
MM is awaiting an order of new stuff.  I'm eyeballing one in .22.
