Need help
« on: December 19, 2006, 01:59:39 PM »
I  need to get a torx bit screw driver that will fit through the hole on my trigger guard. I have a hunter 220
and the rear bolt is loose. The driver i have is to fat to fit in the hole. Any suggestion on what to buy?
I looked at Midsouth's colection of tools , but my luck I will buy the wrong kit.

 Thanks
 Stoli

Torx #25 I believe fits my 440.  Been a long time since I have had to use the torx set.

Yep...it's a T25 and you should be able to get it just about anywhere locally.

After you get the screws out you can go to Home Depot or Lowes and get metric socket head cap screws to replace those stupid torx screws.
If I remember the trigger screw is a 6mm x 22 and the fore end screws are 5mm X 12.

If your driver uses removable bits....

...and you have a 1/4" wrench, just stick the bit - alone - into the screw and use the 1/4" wrench (put it on the bit inside the trigger guard area) to turn it. It's a bit awkward, but it works.

I have a whole slew of allen-headed screws for both the trigger guard and the forearm. I bought 'em from Mcmaster, and had to get bags of 25. Send me your addy, and I'll send you the hardware along with the lock washers.
