There's a lot of conflicting and confusing information about this topic. I prefer to take Bob's advice and use 400 grit. I figure Bob knows what he's talkin about.

Definitely will be losing air with each shot...not to mention the inconsistancy.  Thanks for sharing Charlie.

Seal Material/grit difference?

Would the material being used (different synthetics) make a difference in the grit you choose?

Also, what are everyone's feelings about PTFE seals?
