I ran home tonight to make a quick test of 3 pellets.  All shot at 22 yards. Medium power setting

JSB 16  (15.something I forget the number)
JSB 18
CP 14.3

All groups were shoot unsorted.  Only quick inspection for damage or dings to the pellet.

I still have left to test the Beemen FTS, Kodiak, RWS and Predators (with single shot tray).

Here are the results:

HW100 .177 Hawke Tactical 6.5-20x42

Holy Cow.....that's some really accurate shooting.  Congrats....seems quite a few different pellets will fit your AA410.

Btw....whatever happened with the air leak?  What did you do to fix the problem?

That's what a PCP is supposed to do! Good shooting Johnny.  I think you will find that the JSB 18.0 will shoot little better at longer ranges although the 15.9's is pretty darn close.  Show us what your baby can do at 50 yards when you have time.
Thanks for the post,

Nice groups Johnny. I like the looks of how those JSB 18's shoot. Congrats on a fine shooter.

I still have the Air leak.  I called Pyramid about it, they quickly sent me out some new o-rings to change out thinking it could be one with a small nick or something causing the leak.  I already have the o-rings, but I have not swapped them out yet...  Appears there is some sort of lube on the o-rings that are currently on the gun, any idea what lube to use?  I read the manual, oddly enough I think that is the first time to read a manuel... ;)  But I didnt see anything about lube for the orings... Only about the lube for side lever.

Paul,  I shot it at 50 about a week or so ago.  But the wind was really gusting and didnt feel like it was a fair representation of how the gun could really do.  I was getting .75" - 1.25" groups mostly with the 18 grainers.  I only had 1 group that was .75.  The others were and inch plus...  I shot several groups that day at 25 yards with the 18's, 16's, and Kodiak's.  All 3 did fairly well with the 18's overall making the best groups.  I only used the 18's at 30, 45, 50 and 55 yards.

Just for grins, I ordered some of the JSB lites to try at the lower power settings for shooting at the house.

My charging system should be here today... :D  So I can return my loaner system.  I ordered the 88cuft CF tank from Ponoma.

I think the lube you`re refering to is synthetic silicone....I could be TOTALLY wrong.....so you`ll need to check and research. But apparently all O rings should have a dab of that to keep them supple and less prone to tearing.....

The grease on the O-rings is most prob a rubber grease witch is usely caster or lanolin based.
Can be obtained from shops like... auto brake componet surplyers / O-ring , seal outlets etc.
Funny stuf it makes rubber very slippey
I use it on my fill probe O-rings.

Leak solved... Turns out it was NOT the o-rings.  It was the connection from the foster fitting to the fill cap.  I redid the connection and added an extra round or two of teflon tape.  Problem solved.

I did a little more pellet testing tonight. Each Pellet I recharged back to 190 bar. I also recorded the chrono speeds just to try to set my gun to shoot 790 FPS. Trying to keep my gun around 19-20 FPE. Just in case I get the chance to try the field shooting. The Nationals, I understand is in TX, so I was thinking of trying to play around in the hunter class just to have some fun.

I shot each row with the same pellet 4 groups each. Well the first beeman FTS I only shot 3 groups as the first group I shot several shots trying to dial in the 790 FPS number. I think I got it pretty close. I'm going to play with this some more when I get the JSB Express.

I recorded the shot strings, I think they look pretty good. The Kodiaks my wife shot I didnt get all of the chrono speeds, I guess the light was too low to record accurately the last grouping.

All of our shooting again was at 22 yards. 5 shot groups Shooting from a patio table with Caldwell shooting bags.

The 3rd group of RWS uups. ...uuhmmm I dunno?

Great to hear that about your leak. Easy prob fixed.

I like those fps's .....not much deviation......you can get close to25 good shots out of the AA's.

Also, I was checking out Pyramid Air Guns' blog....and B.B Pelletier/Tom Gaylord said to use diver's silicone on the O rings....keeps them supple and slick.

I have a slow leak after full charge in my AA410 C. It takes a week or so for it to go down but still leaks..:( I think it was that way from the factory but did not notice it untill I got my other PCP's and started shooting them more. I do not know anything about how or to look for the leak. I thought maybe a bit of the correct oil in the fill tube might correct it but will not do that untill I find out what methods are used to correct slow leaks.

Keep us updated Gene.....there's a bunch of us here that have AA410's....and I'm sure we are interested in this situation.  Hope it's not a serious problem though.

Not really a problem Stan except on the re fill. Have to make sure I cock it first or air will just blow out the barrel..:) But I do hope someone can post back to this thread about it..

Hope someone chimes in to help you out Gene or you find the solution yourself. They (The expert PCP users) say that it's better to always have air inside the reservoir to keep dirt and moisture out.
