You don't need to re post the pics, but it will make tabulating the scores easier. You know, this match is making me work on my offhand. I'm like anybody else, I get lazy and since my main thing lately has been my prone matches that is where all my work goes. Though it isn't airgun, look for my post in Target General on smallbore prone.

OK, my score was 180 (pic in other thread) You're right about working on off-hand. I usually shoot kneeling or sitting with/without support. This is a whole different ball game! I bet it will make shooting from other positions better.

Chris

PS. I'll check out your smallbore thread. I've been looking to get into target rimfire shooting myself

Reposting the (47 + 48 + 48 + 45) = 188 score I shot Friday with the Walther LGR-U, 10-meters, standing, off-hand.  Vogel Green Match 4.50 mm, Gamo 5.5 inch single bull targets at 56 in height.  Sorry, I seem to have posted the score in the wrong thread earlier, Charlotte.

I have some questions:
What is the official height for 10-meter target placement?  When shooting 3-position, does the height the target is placed at change?  And is 10-meter air rifle 3-position shooting even an official competition category?  What little I have read about 3-position shooting seems to be with .22 cal rim fire.  Is it legal to shoot in competition, standing position, with one shoe off?  Sounds silly, but I prefer to hold the forestock flat on my palm.  I find that my natural point of aim is too low for a 10-meter target at 56 inches height unless I take a very broad stance with my rear foot well back.  I have tried shooting off of my knuckles with hand closed, but I just don't like this -  it dosen't feel comfortable or stable.  So I simply take off my back  shoe and gain about a half inch of elevation, which seems about perfect for a 56 inch target height and my shooting stance.  And finally, is ethanol a strict no-no for competitive shooting?  I am not talking about any large quantities, but it is a well know medical fact that in small quantities, 1-2 oz, it will significantly diminish muscle tremors.  I suspect, therefore, it would be strictly prohibited and tested for in competitive shooting matches.  So by way of full disclosure, I did have a couple of Modelo Negro beers and was missing one shoe when I shot this match.

Hi Charlotte,
I shot the match 3 times thsi morning with 3 different air rifles ... The first target is with my Logun Axsor, .22 cal  ... the second target is with my Air Arms S.400SL, .177 cal.   Both of these targets were shot fromthe sitting position on my low canvas shooting stool, as I didn't yet feel comfortable shooting from the standing position with rifles that heavy, and using the new "bum-stick".   The Logun weighs in at 8lb 15oz ... the S.400SL comes to a solid 9lb 4oz ... close to match rifle weight.   At the moment my quack has limited me to a 10 lb lift - lol !
The third target I shot my first score from the "bum-stick" using the BSA Ultra Single-Shot, in .177 cal.  It only weighs 7lb 12oz and of course has that short front end - lol.  One interesting item I noted ... nerve spasms from the upper spine, which occurred during the "second match", all pulled roughly one shot in five down to the 4-O'clock direction.

Scores were :
Logun Axsor.22 - 200-14X
AirArms S.400SL - 199-16X
BSA Ultra SS - 188-4X

Greetings fellow AG enthusiasts!! I hope everyone has had a great Valentines weekend,....I know I did,...more on that later!!!!! Any ways, this weekend I thought it only proper to show off my Sweet-Heart Seniorita to everyone in GTA land. For starters,...this rifle and I have a 'love/hate' relationship. Another one of my direct sear triggered rifles,...Uuuggghh, but none the less, way more accurate than the man behind the trigger. Been waiting on Derek's response on the "EZ-Pull" trig assist before I invest in one,...but that surgical tubing would be nice to try out. The trigger grip is slick as owl-$#it,....and I find the best finger position to fire the most accurately is on the inside knuckle. I know this goes against every rule of shooting,...but it works for me. With the heavy pull,...finger tipping causes too much movement, and I've had to adapt for this the best I can. Well without further ado, here is my 10 meter effort for this weekend!!! Happy Shooting to all!!!! tjk

PS The highway stakes designated the 10 meter mark, and the painted linedesignatedthe 10 yard mark. tjk

Hey Ronbeaux:

Do the 5 on 1 sheets of Gamo targets print out with the little black dot in the center of the 10 ring?  Can I draw a black dot in on my targets, too?  That would work even better than the yellow hilighter!

OK, here goes.

Rifle: IZH MP512-M in .22 caliber with custom wood stock and BSA 4x32AO scope. I can actually see that there are numbers on the targets now!

Ammo: Daisy Precision Max. Tried RWS Superdomes, but they didn't work as well as the Daisies.

Score: 158. Having issues allowing for wind coming from the right.

Yes it does print out the black dot.
No you can't draw one on the target, at least not until I get to beat you a couple times.

The ones I printed came out 3/4" for the white area so I just ordered me a 100 of them. Could not find any at Cabelas, Bass Pro, Walmart, or the Local Gun Store.
