I got one of those ToolsNow models...the 7x12 mini-lathe, model #5278.It was last year.I picked it up at a truck sale so I didn't have to worry about shipping damage...and I was able to inspect it on the spot. I waited way too long to buy it (few years), always waiting for a better deal, or something. When I finally got it, I realized all that I had been missing. Like the ability to make simple custom spring guides out of Delrin for example. These things are easy to use, solid, comes with the most accessories, and you can start makin stuff just with the accessories that it comes with...but I ended up buying a few other things from the
www.littlemachineshop.com site. My advice to you is that if you have the money, buy one. The price has only gone up over the years, just like everything else. I think my mini-lathe is awesome. I spend hours and hours out in the garage playing around with it...getting to know its capabilities. My favorite power tool.
