Lets Get Somethig Organized ?
« on: February 19, 2009, 04:12:47 PM »

All CO2 air rifle shooters, lets organize a match.

We can start by deciding the rules, target, number of rounds to be fired ????

Bill:

I will shoot with you.  How about a 25 round match, 10-meter, standing, off-hand.  Do you have Edelmann 5-bull practice targets by any chance?  If not, then Gamo targets are OK, too.  And if not that, then any target you want that you can post a link to that I can download it.  I will shoot my AR2078a / .177 with the Tim Null stock.

If you want to go longer, weather permitting, I will break out the 2250 XT and we can go 20, 25, or 30 yards, standing, seated, seated w/ rest or bench -  what ever.  I could probably even find a 5-gal bucket for a bucket match.  I do not do prone yet, and probably won't with the 2250-XT in any case.  I guess I could shoot the Hammerli 850 in a CO2 match too.

You pick the distance and target.  I will pick the CO2 rifle and shoot with you, what ever you choose.  You have been called out, sir!  Your honor is at stake.

Sounds Good Tommy !

We will get this baby started !

I have the Gamo targets, and 10 meters would be fine, it's real cold and VERY windy in NJ.

I'll use my QB 78 .20 ! the only CO2 I have right now :)

Is it the same Gamo target that the rifle shooters are using?

I have to mail order or make it, could not find at any local shop.

Gotta bring up the size issue.
The Gamo target and the 5x jpg target are the same size.
From the discussion there, the 9 ring on the 5x target is about 1/4" smaller than the Gamo target.

I have the ring diameters of the Gamo, so I can print my own targets.

Yes, and the 5X Gamo printed targets also have a black dot in the middle of the 10 ring -- the cardboard Gamo targets out of the box do not.  At least for me, that black dot in the center of the 10 ring seems a big advantage with diopter sights. The "standard" should be the Gamo cardboard out of the box or the 5X printed target -- but not either.

Jees TC, if you can see the black dot inside the 10 ring at 10 meters, you got GOOD eyes.Personally, for diopter sights, I would blacken BOTH the 9 and 10 rings to eliminate that white center.I got a lead on a PDF printer driver.  If it works, I can generate a PDF of a 2 and 6 bull Gamo target, presuming I got the ring diameters correct.  The 6 bull has all of the 5-ring and the 4-ring gets clipped on the top and bottom.

I meant to say the Gamo target and the 5x jpg target are NOT the same size.
