barrel droop on cfx

In a recent post on the bkl 260 scope mounts Daved said he used the 260 mount with .007" droop compensation on his cfx and his was right on at 10 yds. with the scope adjustments centered (Thanks for the info Dave!).  Has anyone else experienced this.  It seems to me that a drooper mount would would help keep the scope adjustments more centered with the trajectory of the pellets being so high whether the barrel droops or not.  Am I thinking logically?

Hey Scott,

I have a CFX however it doesn't have any barrel droop.  I used an Accushot high mount 1 piece mount with a Leapers 3x9x50 scope and it's worked fantastic. The scope elevation/windage have a good adjustment range and I have no complaints.  I don't think GAMO's are really noted for having a droop issue, although I guess it's possible some GAMO rifles do.  I own 7 GAMO rifles and none of them have barrel droop.  Does you CFX have droop?

I own two CFX's and 6 Shadows and none have barrel droop.
Gamo's do not have that problem.

But wouldn't it make sense to get a drooper mount to help compensate for trajectory...to help keep the scope optically centered on longer shots...the bkl site has two drooper models one with .004" for .22 rimfires and the .007" for airguns.  Is this not for trajectory compensation?  Just wondering.

Hey Scott,

BKL mounts are excellent mounts to say the least, I have one of them on a Shadow .177, but they are in the 50 - 60 dollar range.  Don't get me wrong,,, they are well worth the money but for $19 bucks I can get an Accushot 1 piece mount that I know will work well (I have several rifles with the Accushots and have had no problems).  

If you feel you want, or need, one of the BKL drooper mounts by all means get it, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it, but I'm a firm believer in keeping things simple,,, if I can  and if I can save almost $40 bucks doing it so much the better.  

Me personally, I don't see the sense in paying extra for a drooper mount if the scope will adjust well without it.  Maybe others feel differently about it, but that's my take.

If you want to spend the money by all means go ahead, but it would be wasted money in my opnion. The CFX does not need anything special for a problem that does not exist.

 I don't use anything special for scope mounts on any of my rifles. I buy B Square utility mounts from Gander Mountian for 10 bucks and when you mount the scope correctly it will not move.
The scopes I use are 3X9X32 Tasco Golden Antler and with a raised scope rail I use the mounts that come on the scope, on a rifle without a raised rail the lens covers hit the reciver so I change them out to the B Square medium  mounts.
