Kodiak Beeman Double Gold, .177, 10.6 Gr

After using some pretty crappy Daisy pellets and the Raptor PBA's, I found these pellets, and quite like them. My Big Cat seems to agree. I love how they're copper coated, so I'm not touching the lead directly.

Though they're heavier than really should be used in a springer, they have more penetration than PBA rounds, owing to thier weight. They expand quite nicely, and after shooting a pellet into water, I've found that both the head and the skirt show the rifling grooves. Though I did notice that there is some real variation in pellets in the same tin.. Some fit tight in the barrel, and others are almost loose. Some don't have the copper coating all the way inside the skirt.

Here's a 5 shot group at 15 yards shortly after I installed the GRT-III, and just got used to it:

Earier today, I found out they drop quite drastically at distance. I tried hitting a soda can at 70 yards, and it dropped a good 1 1/2 to 2 feet below where I was aiming:

The white marks are where the pellet struck the post. It was only a three shot group, so there weren't any misses here on the post.

Sometimes the skirts are a bit deformed, and I've found that accuracy can be a little inconsistent. I'm not sure whether these are the pellets or the Big Cat's lack of rifling on the last half inch of the barrel, or my lack of real experience. I've gotten several perfect bullseyes with these pellets at 15 yards, and can hit a soda can all day at 30.

Overall, I give these pellets a B+. A little more consistency in the tin would get it the rest of the way to an A.
