Which Seal Kit for QB78?
« on: December 29, 2006, 06:34:29 AM »
Helo!
I just got brand new QB78 and i love it! Bolt action almost like .22 rimfire 8)
I'm not planning to tune it up for now, i like it as it is. However it would be nice to get some spare seals just in case. I've found this over the internet:
1.Archer Airguns "2X" Seal Kit for QB78 $13.99
2.CharlieDaTuna QB-78 Tune-up Parts Kit $12.50
What would you choose? Maybe any other options...?

Just one more question, a few days ago i read this: http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155158
Is it OK to lube bolt probe with silicone oil or i should rather use mineral oil? (just one drop, i know)

Greetings from Poland, forgive my english.

either one is fine. the archer one gives you enough for 2 rebuilds. as for the oil, not to sure. I used some marvels mystory oil on my o-ring, this is used mostly in RC engines, I have used for years and no problems so far.

Wallis is right about the seals, regarding the lubrication,  I only use silicone oil and moly paste in the guns I build.
