Need Advice
« on: February 25, 2009, 01:13:24 PM »
Alright guys help me out on this one, I am looking for a new scope to put on my b-21. I had previously had a BSA 3x12-40 on it and it trashed it under about 20 shots. So I am not interested on putting on another BSA on it and am looking for some other ideas from you guys on a scope that will withstand the power of the beast.. I would like to keep the price under 100 bills.... Thanks alot.....
Just imagine you woke up one morning and every animal you\'ve ever killed was in your yard. I think I might need a bigger yard........

How bout a Leapers 3x9x32 AO from optics planet for $43 bucks including shipping.  I have about a dozen of these scopes, a couple on magnum springers and they've perfromed flawlessly for me.

I think Natchez has them on sale right now also for something like $32 bucks but you have to pay for shipping....

Leapers also has a 3x9x40 that's a nice scope for a small price....

Hey Beav if that BSA did air rifle on it it wasn't going to hold up. They only build 3 that are springer rated 3-12x44 2-7x32 and a 4x32. Anything over an R-7 / HW-30 will destroy most non-springer rated scopes. If you have the 150.00 the Hawke 4-12X40 airmax is a nice scope. if you looking low budget Jeff has it nailed with the leapers. Their bigger scopes have some issues depending on which one. the 3-9x32 3-9x40 3-9x50 would all be good choices. Good luck keep us posted.

Hey Jeff I am going to take your advice on a leapers 3x9-32 but I have a question for you. My one piece mount dimensions are 4-3\4 inches to the end of the rings, could you measure your scope and tell me if my mount will work. I am asking because it is too long for my 2x7-32 that I have on my gamo...Thanks alot....

Hey Jason the scope was a 3x12-44 I was mistaken and says airrifle on it.. I have another BSA 2x7-32 on my gamo hunter sport and it is holding up just fine. I guess the recoil from the beast was too much for my other BSA......

What kind of mount do you have.  I use the Accushot 1 piece mounts and the 3x9x32 works just fine.

Jeff I couldn't even tell ya, I bought it about two years ago from Sportsmans Warehouse I can remember it was a beeman. It is a one piece mount with four screws to hold it tight to the rifle. The only reason I am asking is because there was not enough room between the lens bells on the scope to fit between the rings if this answers your questions..... Thanks for your patience..

Man I'm suprised Beav the 3-12 has been go to me so I bought another. Your 2-7 BSA is a short scope around 11.5". The leapers is just over 13" so your Beeman mount should work model number should be 5039. The leapers is about the same length. Worst comes to worst buy a leapers one piece mount at the same time they run 15-20 dollars and have held up well on everything I've put them on. Let's see some pics of that bad boy when your done.
