RS2 Dual-Caliber Combo $127.98 @ Wally World
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:01:20 AM »
Just stopped by my local Walmart and they have the Beeman RS2 Dual-Caliber Combos priced at $127.98.  Looks like it is an everyday price.  I opened the box and it appears to be the "good" style.  Also, the box I looked in did not have a storage bag.

I purchased one of these, it's an excellent rifle. I had John in PA due a tune on it and all I can say is "WOW", I love this gun. I use it in .22 exclusively but since I have the .177 barrel for it I can switch out if ammo supply becomes a problem. :-) Awesome gun for the price!

Do the rs2’s at wally world have the two stage adjustable trigger?  Model 1073 or.?  That’s a great price.

Yes, beautiful trigger adjustment and the dual barrels to boot. Plus you get the open sights that they don't provide with the $180 PA one. These are sweet guns that are highly underrated and passed on by many who look only at cost as a potential indicator of performance. Here is a link to some chrony figures that are pretty much OOTB:
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=14968&mid=121126#M121126

The only place I've seen this type of performance and consistency is when you pay hundreds more for a European gun, or have a professional tune done to some others that claim these numbers but don't quite get there without the tune.
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

My WalMart has them for $124.95.  Are all of the two barrel guns they sell RS2's?

Hey guys I bought Me and My son the RS2 at wally world for 122.00 but ended up taking it back cuz the thing just didnt seem very precision. Plenty enuff Gun for the price but every screw on ours worked loose in three shots, mainly the barrel set. We also had doubts about the 1000fps as our Daisy powerline shot much deeper into a 2x4 than the Beeman and its four years old. The worst thing is the barrel seal, it seems the chamber is not made to good tolerances cuz the seal started tearing within four cockings. The scope crosshairs turned off center after several shots. All and all the gun is accurate if you can keep it together. Just wanted to let people hear My experiance. The good thing is if ya dont like it,ya know Wal-mart will refund easily.

This is a good rifle for the money. I own 2 and have no problems. They will both shoot ragged one hole groups at 25yds with several differnt types of pellets. I prefer the .22 caliber myself in this gun. This sounds  like just inexperience with a spring gun. The screws need to be loctited like any spring gun. the breech seal often needs to be replaced as the factory one is a litlle rough. A #6 o-ring available at Lowes or HD works perfectly. The scope rotating was probably due to loose rings again you need to loctite these too. These guns are known for their accuracy and power. with a little work and they can be even better. Very few springers live up to their FPS claims straight out of the box.
This gun is the same as a TF89, AR1000 and the Hammerrli Titan. I would call it a great buy for the money.

Have had my RS2 for almost 2 years now and has since been a smooth shooter. I shoot 22 only and yet top use the 177. This is an adult spring gun and after using it a while made my other springer's cocking effortless. Out of the box..scope and mount has to go and single mount and better scope makes it a one holer on top of being a hard shooter.

I figured I might ruffle a few feathers, It is no inexperience, My father is a Gunsmith of 35 years and I have been  there for 32 of them. I know all about loc-tite , scope rings and afro-engineering. The first thing I did was loc-tite all screws on scope, The crosshairs turned inside the tube. I stated that the Gun was well worth $100 just needed some tinkering done, but it just didnt turn out to be what Me and My son were after. We were trying to avoid ordering thru mail.(takes forever where We live).I have owned many airguns ,although I am a firearms collector/hobbiest and I would rate the Beeman as a good gun for a Wal-mart deal. I hope People understand I am in no way trying to say your stupid for liking this airgun. If it does what you need stupid would be spending more money for something  ya dont need. The wood on the RS2 was very nice but I didnt like the contour of the stock much. The fixed sights seemed very useful as far as visibillity goes although We did not use them any. Well I just wanted to clear up that I was not trying to beat up this rifle but rather let people know what they might expect if they were a first time break barrel buyer. And I dont  like to be called inexperienced as I have been tinkering and shooting guns since I was a young Lad.
