I love CO2 guns INDOORS! But don't care as much for them outdoors.
When I worked in Mexico and lived on the border in California, my son and I would go out shooting ground squirrels and lizards with CO2 guns. You could only reliably shoot CO2 outdoors in the winter there (the Baja Desert). Temps during the day were 60-75 or so. Along about May, temps started upwards....and the guns got less effecient. By June they were worthless outdoors. At 105-120 degrees in the daytime, the valves just wouldn't work very well on them. If you didn't get out and out valve-lock, you might get a weak shot off.
We moved back to Ohio, now the CO2 guns are not so great outdoors in the fall and winter, great in spring, iffy in summer.
I love CO2 guns!!! I own a bunch of them and use them mostly indoors. But the temp thing has had me shooting springers, pumpers, or PCP mostly when I go outdoors.
