B-26 & RWS 34
« on: March 02, 2009, 11:12:20 AM »
Is it possible to make modifications to the B-26 or the RWS 34 to get a little more fpe from them. And at what cost? Is it worth the effort?

Also I want to say this is an awesome forum. I have poured over nearly every inch of this site gleaning all that I can. Although I have to admit I haven't gone over to the darkside yet.
You are all very generous with your time. Thanks from a neophite.

:D I bought an "up grade tuned" B26 from MM in 177.   He claimed "should shoot just shy of 1000 FPS."   MY chrony shows  RWS HOBBIES AVERAGE 970.1 FPS.,  close enough.  BEEMAN BEAR CUBS AVERAGE 897.8 FPS.  Very smooth shooter, trigger breaks clean at 1 lb. 11.2 oz.  It does ragged one holers at 10 meters.  And the cost???  $180.00 shipped.   Was it worth it???  In all my life this has got to be one of the most satisfiying purchase I have ever made.  Get a tuned 26 from Mike, and get total satisfaction.

Hello and Welcome Terry. Anything is possible to get a little more "umph" out of the guns you mentioned but hardly no one who knows these two fine shooters will recommend doing it.Best to leave these guns "as is" with perhaps a little tuning or attention to breech seal issues. If you want more power you'd be better off to step up to another power class of guns.Cheaper all the way around and you won't destroy a perfectly good mid-power rifle in the process of trying to make it into something it ain't.

Progun, sage advice I believe you are right. I have a MM-b-26 on its way right now and can't wait !  I'll move up in power / range if i need to with my next gun.

Thanks    T.
