Refurb CFXs from Cabelas, check your orders...
« on: June 22, 2006, 02:20:08 PM »
I thought I had purchased one of these. I got the confirm email, then no response for about 2 days so I logged into their site and checked my order status.

The order was listed as cancelled so I called support to ask them why.

They said they had run out.

So those of you who purchased may want to check your orders, yours may have been cancelled too.

which of course raises the question -- what to get now?

I was considering a RWS 48 or 52 in .22 flavor.

Can anyone suggest a good scope/ring etc set up for such a gun?

Much appreciated.

CCording to Straightshooters these are both heavy recoil guns and should be scoped with scopes that can handle the harsh recoil as well as one-piece mounts.  I don't have any experience with anything this stout in the RWS springers.  I would suggest you check the Straightshooters site.  They list some scopes as well as a one-piece mount for these rifles.  If you are a penny pincher like me, you could try one of the full length Leapers, say at Scragglepoint, that is TS rated along with a set of the Accushot one-piece mounts.  I have 3-9 x 40 Leapers with the Accushot one-piece mounts on a Gamo S1k and a Remington Genesis.  Both of these rifles have a pretty harsh recoil.  The scopes seem to be holding up OK after about 500 shots each.
