B19
« on: March 08, 2009, 02:56:59 AM »
I understand that the Crosman Quest is a Chinese made model B19. I'm curious if there are any retailers in the states who sell the B19 as is from China?

If they do, it is NOS ( New Old Stock) or used, as when Crosman made the contract, they got exclusive rights to the design. No new B19's have been shipped to us since Crosman has been getting the Quest.
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

Thanks for the info. I had not been able to find anyone selling them so I kind of figured as much. Next question..... has anyone rebarreled a B19 or Quest to .20cal? If so, how do you like it in that caliber?

The Quest ( B19) I just got used form one of the members is something else after shooting it I thought this must be a tuned gun it is smooth and easy cocking has a good trigger breaks good and not to hard when I chronyed it it comes up to 1025 fps and higher  with chp at 7.9 g.  It will do clover leafs or put all pellets inside  a 3/8 in bull at 10 yds and no crown work . I emailed him and found out it has not been taken apart since he got it he was the first  owner  I guess it just got worn in by shooting .howie

I have a .177 Quest here that I bought new and have put about 25, 500 count tins of pellets through, mostly heavies. It also is very smooth and the trigger is broken in , so much so , that I haven't put a gold trigger in it yet. I cronyed it a couple months back and it still does around 720 with the kodiaks and 950 with cpl's. There are a few lemons out there, but the Quest is a good gun  for the money. It's not as good as a B-20 , but for under thirty yards use it is OK. I like them better than any of the new style Gamos they also sell at wally world around here for forty dollars more.

I just now chronyed it and after 12 shots throwing out the top and bottom shots ( 1116 and 1028 )  the average comes to 1073 ( 20.2 ft. lbs. ) very respectable, most of the shots run in the 1065 range.  I am not going to put the gold trigger in this rifle since trigger is good enough without it. I really have a hard time thinking it chronys over 1000 fps but the numbers are their , I checked the external size of the power plant to my Webley and Winchester and this is 1 1/4 inches chorter as well as 1/8 inch thinner so the spring has to be smaller , the china gun makers did something right on this one. howie  PS I had a BIG CAT and this will  out shoot it any day.( smoother trigger , easy to cock ,hit harder )

Howie, I am glad you like the quest. She will always have a special place in my heart. My first magnum powered airgun. I never even took her out of the stock until the day I shipped it to you. Those numbers are fantastic! I don't have a chrony, but I knew she had some fire power! Okay, Air power! LOL!.
enjoy and shoot safe.
I just put my tf89 on the classifieds. She shoots a little harder than the quest! Price is negotiable for my forum friends.
