Black Shadow tune up
« on: January 05, 2007, 04:45:18 AM »
I just installed Rich's tune kit (stock spring) with the brg in my Black Shadow .22. The gun was a good smooth shooter before I installed this kit as I had lube tuned it when it was new  Well, it's even better now. The power is the same as before but it is quieter and smoother when cocking and shooting. I am vey pleased with the kit. The guide and top hat fit very snug and Rich supplies good instructions. I also installed the trigger insert in a CFX and it made a big differnce in the trigger. The gun is shooting RWS Superdomes @ 725 fps ave and Crow Mags at 635. I've shot RWS s-domes, RWS s-hp, CP hp, Beeman crowmags, Gamo hunters and it groups the best and has the most energy with the superdomes. I installed a Simmons 44mag 6.5x20x44 scope and a GTX 111 trigger in it and it is my go to gun for hunting. I'm going hunting  Sunday morning to see how it does on the squirrels.
Thanks Rich for a quality kit and good sevice.
By the way , if anyone is interested I am going to sell my CFX .177. It has Rich's trigger insert, rollers and slide, an Apex seal and has been lube tuned. It is an accurate gun and shoots RWS s-domes at 865 fps. Bought new in March '06. I just like .22 better and am looking for another .22 break barrell. I have $220.00 in it and will take $185.00. Thanks

Hey, Randy, if you haven't tried JSB Predators in your Shadow yet, you should.  Seems that the guns that shoot Superdomes well also shoot Predators well, and give more power and better downrange power as well.  IF they work in your gun, the Predators are hard to beat.

Randy,
I can attest to Daves remarks.  My .22 cal Black Shadow shoots Superdomes and Predators like a laser.  As for squirrels,,,, the gun is one of my favorite squirrel guns,, light, crazy accurate and drops tree rats in their tracks with those predators.  If you can post some pics of your hunt that would be great.  Good shooting and good hunting.

You guys are right about the predators. I forgot to mention that I also shot them but John only had a few left so I didn't get to test them as much. John and I shot in his basement Tuesday night untill 10:30 and we had a blast. I took my Black Shadow, CFX, B26-2 .22, 2240 and IZH 46 and John had his new 890 .22, NRA shadow, 1250 .22 and a crosman ssp250. It seems like this is all we think and talk about anymore.
