Sorry for the delayed up-date fella's. I used Beeman Cromag's for this weekends competition. And I shot at 6 pumps. I hope to get the Venturi Rail scope set-up,...like on my 392....when and if PA ever gets them on stock again,....you all know the routine!!!! But I did run into a problem about two weekes ago. After tinkering with the trigger some,..ok too much,...I ended up getting too greedy with the trigger pull!!!! Shaved a tad too much of the sear release tab!!! Oh well,.....But even worse, I tightenned the stock bolt lug too hard and pulled the nut off the bolt holding to the action. Luckily they (Crosman) had these parts and I purchased two lugs and two sears just in case. My 'mechanical weakness' is to over tighten things sometimes,.....another reason I don't care to pull my guns apart unless they/I have to. But the whole lesson cost less than $10 so I don't feel too bad about the situation 'I' created!!!!!LOL's  I do have a question to ask of the pumper community. At 10 Yards, I find I have to drop my rear sight all the way down to the action to even get close to the target. I even removed the elevation screw and let the sight rest on the action its self. Any clues how I can compensate/ alter the rear sight for such "close in shooting" with the irons ?!?!?!?!? tjk

Sorry tjk, no idea......use hold-over or hold under?  That's what I do with my Crosman 1377 pumper pistol....the rear sight is all the way down and I'm still shooting about 1cm high at 10 meters.  Or another way if possible and feasible....change the front sight....higher or lower.

TJK,

I noticed that the rear sight on my 392 never got low enough even without the elevation screw. So I took the windage screws out of it and removed the blade and bent it a little so it would sit lower. Don't need to bend it too much.
Then I put it back together without over tightening! :)    Got it to work pretty good even at 6yds indoors.

You might try pumping one less time when shooting at close range too. I been using 5.

Until these 10 meter (and yard) shoots I very seldom shot that close, generally I would plink at 20. Seemed like it would be too easy to nearly stand on top of the target. Geez, was I wrong! I'm finding I need to lower the sights on anything I shoot at 10 meters now. And I'm finding it almost as hard to see the target at 10 yds as it is at 20.
I can't get over how much a scope helps at only 30 feet.
I have an NC Star pistol scope mounted scout style on my 392. It's awesome for quick both eyes open shots while plinking (and probably hunting too) but I need to practice with it a bit more for off-hand paper punching.

And that sear issue.... Ha, I did the same thing. Had it working just right, then decided I wanted more. I managed to get the original to work right again, but I will probably be ordering a new one someday.

Wish I could Stan,...but I don't want to mess with the factory front sight,...can't replace them!!!! LOL's. But I may try to bend the rear sight some like Andy suggested and hope for a better result,...and the ramp is replaceable too!!!! LMAO I have tried the hold over/under approach, and have had mixed results,...but getting older like everyone else,...my eye's just don't seem to work as well as they used to. Although, with my .22 Rossi,...I can still pop the cap off a water bottle at 50 yards with the irons,....OK every fifth or sixth shot!!!!! tjk

Sorry I let you multi pump guys down this weekend. All of my yards were the dirt I was shoveling into my garden. 3yds to be exact! 32 wheel barrels full. My arms are paralized. I have been hit by a truck. Stove up like you wouldn't believe. On a good note, I now know where all of my muscles are, even the ones I didn't know I had!!!!!!!
