John: Gene's BSA...buy it!  The plus will be that you own it!  The minus is on everyone else!  Gene would not own it, unless it is real good.  The new BSA guns are now made by Gamo...in Spain, Gamo bought BSA.  If you really like "The Dark Side"...You should try Big-Bore PCP .452cal 300 gr...at 900-950fps!  Kicks like a Marlin 1894 in 45 Colt!

John - It's all about what you want in a PCP and most importantly how much can you spend.  I guaranty that Gene and Peakchick know more about BSA's than anyone else on this forum.  So if Gene is selling his BSA then it will be an excellent rifle for you.  Look at the support you need though.  Air tanks, hoses, gauges etc.  The initial cost is more than just the gun.  I welcome you to the Darkside with open arms.     Paul

Well give Peak the credit for the BSA knowledge. She hooked me on these babies..:) She is the one with all the knowledge for sure. I think for the most part that BSA makes and excellent product. There prices are not as high as others but still make a quality product.

THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Money, money, and money John. Just depends on how much you want to spend. The nice thing about a springer is cock,  load, and shoot. If you just want to try out the PCP's then by all means go for the Disco. I spent a thousand dollars on a tuned Talon with all the fixings, and hand pump. I probably would be just as happy with a tuned Disco from Mac-1 or Mountain Air?  I would love to buy Gene's BSA, but I still need a better scuba tank(4500 psi=$600). The Disco I have heard is pretty easy to hand pump(2000psi). My Talon on the other hand just gets harder after the 2000psi mark, and I still have another 1000 psi to go. Which is about 150 pump strokes with a lot of back pressure.

If I were to do it  again. I would do the Mac-1 Disco with a hand pump, and make sure they go through the trigger. Good Luck. Keep us posted.

I went out and got a Disco .22! Fantastic gun, easy to pump up, accurate but it is a tad small! Trigger is a bit spongie but there are mods you can do! I get about 25 hard shots with only a little change in POI! I would buy it again without a doubt! Then again, I do like the look of Genes gun too but one step at a time!
