Flashlights & Mounts
« on: March 15, 2009, 07:42:07 AM »
Recently ordered a NICE flashlight with s Cree Emitter and a velcro strap mount at dealextreme.com

Everything came out to a little over 25 bucks.

Here's links to the light & the mount:

GREAT Mount! Works VERY well:   http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12000

Here's the light: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14909

The light can be run off of a single 3v CR2 battery ot you can screw on the extension tube & run 2 AA batteries. It's pretty darned bright too! Not quite the 230 lumen that they list. More like 100-110 but that MORE than enough! LOTS of throw, notmany artifacts in the beam. Nice pinpoint spot out to 20 yards and turns into a flood light past that.

Now I really like that mount Sam. Will it move after you install it? Like shooting your springer and the recoil makes the strap slip?

Thanks for sharing bud.

I'm ordering that mount tonight. Every time I order from DX, I get at least one ten pack of the keychain LCD lights
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1100
At 46 cents each, much cheaper than the 2016 batteries in the Dallas market. I give them to all my friends, and have them laying about everywhere.
My experiences ordering from DealExtreme have been pretty good. Takes a couple of weeks, and often they backordered. This is really just a guy and his wife with maybe one helper in Hongkong, and he really does not keep "stock".
That Fenix light I posted is a much higher quality that most of the DX flashlights. The "Romisen" brand have been OK, though.

Look's like a nice setup for night patrol hunt's. As Gene mentioned I wonder if it will stay put under a springer recoil, let us know how it hold's up guy's.:) Ed

The strap itself won't loosen up. It's a pretty good velcro piece. It will move after a few shots though. The center piece is a nice rubber block with 2 different sized half ciricle cut outs.

I like the fact that the mount will move shot to shot on a springer. It absorbs some of the recoil by moving instead of tearing up your new flashlight!

I use the same flashlight mount with my MTE CREE-MC-E single 18650 light on my bike and airguns.  Works really good, especially the Flashlight, 600-700 lumens.

Hey, I've never been able to pass up at least checking out new flashlights . This could easily become another addiction. At least there's some cheap ones out there to play with. LOL kirby

Here in Michigan, most of us use Streamlights with a couple of guys using MagLites every now and then.  Over the years, I've bought probably 10 of them out of my uniform allowance money.  Great flashlights, they can really absorb a lot of punishment and during the past couple of years have had great improvement to their switches.  That, as well as limited run-time used to be the only negative comments I could make of Streamlight.  Now, I just keep an extra battery stick charged and in my gearbag.  I can see how they could become an addiction...just not as bad as airguns are.

In the last two days , I've ordered 2 Romisen MXDL Cree lights ; 3 Nuwai .5's , bought the Energizer 1.0 watt yesterday , and bought 2 Maglight Solitaires today ; along with about $40 worth of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries with chargers . Yea, I can see how they can be addictive . Flashlights have come a ways since I bought my last one. kirby
