Alaskan hunters and Democrats
« on: March 16, 2009, 12:43:57 PM »
The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the rugged mountains of Alaska for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the campground in the Pope Mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods.

A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a 'Vote for Obama' hat and a "Save the Trees" t-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically and thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10-foot grizzly.

As the Pope watched in horror, a group of Republican loggers with 'Go Sarah' t-Shirts came racing up. One quickly fired a 44 magnum into the bear's chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp.

Then using long knives the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.

As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over.
"I give you my blessing for your brave actions !" he told them. "I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic environmental activists, but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true."

As the Pope drove off, one logger asked his buddies "Who was that guy ?
"It was the Pope," another replied. "He's in direct contact with Heaven and has access to all wisdom."

Well, the logger said, "he may have access to all wisdom, but he doesn't know squat about bear hunting! By the way, is the bait still alive, or do we need to go back to Massachusetts and get another one?"

That's stereotyping for you... I'm a gun-toting Democrat and an environmentalist.

Using senators as bait would be better... And a public service!

Kinda along that line, - there's a group of characters trying to reintroduce the wolf to northern New England. (Like it knows what zip code to stay in - this ain't Wyoming)) ... I've often thought if they manage to pull it off - (and with BO in office the odds went up) we should trap as many as possible, and truck 'em to Boston about 2:00 AM. Open the truck, and let 'em do their thing!!! There's plenty of dumpsters with garbage, more than enough stray cats & dogs to give the good folks of Boston a lesson on how nature works close up, - in real time. They'll be the fattest wolves in the country in two weeks, - and Boston's stray cat & dog problem will be under control, - so will the psuedo-enviromentalists. ;)

Never mind, if he won't defend his ten points where he wrote them, what does it matter?

You are a BB gun toting liberal with a flair for the gay... I'll be sticking with the men who want to use you as bait for the bears that you so want to protect. If you have a weapon, one that they are about to regulate, what is it? When they come to you to make you register it, what will you do? Will you stand upon your second amendment rights or will you crumble, kiss the ring, and register your powder burning weapon? What will you do, oh, designer ICON dude?

I've spent a life time hunting, fishing, and just watching. I've seen that we need to regulate abuses of the environment, but I've never seen a liberal get that regulation correct. I've seen that we need to ensure that species are protected, but I've never seen a liberal get that right. I've seen the need to balance that which man wants to do with that which nature must do, but I have NEVER seen a liberal get that right.

I've spent a life time hunting, fishing, and just watching and I have learned that any government is a burden, any regulation is encumbering, expensive, and inefficient. We need it because there are things, precious few, but some things which government should do, and which government can actually do, better than capitalism, or some confederation of people can do. They are usually really ugly things like wage war, or manage borders, or fight crime...

What one should always remember though is that government is THE LAST RESORT. The founders knew that. They understood it. Alas, too many have forgotten it.

Erskine, we've gotta come up with some way to have a "Kumbiya" moment between you and Hermie.  Maybe marshmellows and hot dogs around a fire behind Gene's house while talking over airguns and fine cigars!  What do you say man,  I have three "It's a Girl" cigars left from my fourth and last chlld two years ago that I'll donate, if Gene will donate the fire and the weenies.  Anyone think we have a truce in the making here?  Whose bringing the buns.............?   Ross

Like I said elsewhere, I'm bad.  It is probably the PTSD kicking in.  There is this:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jolDvz-wgGMNcrez_pn8zfpAUwxwD97JUA582
... and it is encouraging, maybe the man has a brain.  I really do want him to turn into a centrist Democrat.  I really do.  He could do so much to bring "closure" to a nation that still needs "closure" because of slavery.

I may seem like an unfeeling White Anglo Saxon Guy, but really, I'm not... I have a sensitive side too...  Nawwwww....  but I had you for a moment.

LOL, I DO want to see this man succeed at being a CENTRIST.  I want this man to demonstrate that any person can become a good president, whether liberal or conservative, whether Christian or Jew, Muslim, or Buddist.  If you love America, and you want to work for America, then you can become a president that MOST of the people will support.  That is all that I want from this man...

I just can't deal with the 2 percenter's who want me to approve of a life style that my German Shepard Dog would attack you for trying on him...  and that is the word this evening.  The gay community wants me to let them get married, fine get married, but don't call it marriage because that is MY word.  It's kinda like Whoopie feels about HER word, if you get my drift.  If she can have HER word, then I can have MY word and what queers do when they make a commitment to each other can't be defined as MY word.  Do it if you have to, but don't take my word...
